  1. COOKIE CUTTER DAY is the day to break out your seasonal shapes and begin you holiday baking. If you are not in North America, cooking making tools are called biscuit cutters
  2. POLLUTION PREVENTION DAY is when you can improve the health of the earth’s environment. The Great Pacific Garbage patch is roughly the size of France and is estimated to contain 1.8 billion pieces of plastic.  Today you can consider new ways to eliminate unnecessary plastic consumption.
  3. MAKE A GIFT DAY is for you to create a present that didn’t come from a store. Often hand-made gifts are cherished by the recipient.
  4. SANTA’S LIST DAY is on the 3rd of December. It is the first draft where the elves divide people on the nice or naughty list.  Write a letter to list the ways you’ve been good this year to make sure you get more than a lump of coal in your stocking.
  5. BATHTUB PARTY DAY is not intended to be a rave, it quite the opposite, turn off your cell phone, load of the bubbles, and don’t let anything disturb the peace while you take a long, relaxing soak.
  6. MITTEN TREE DAY is centred around the story The Mitten. For this of us who are not grade school children we can take a collection of mittens for donation or tread your team to a set of mitts with your logo on them.
  7. COTTON CANDY DAY is on the 7th of December. It was originally called fairy floss when it was invented in 1899
  8. LARD DAY, considered by some as the fattest day of the year. According to the Health Fats Coalition there are several benefits of using lard.  It has less fat than butter.  Those who bake with it swear by it for flakier pie crusts, and cookies softer.
  9. CHRISTMAS CARD DAY is observed on the 9th; it is a good day to send out your Christmas cards and holiday greetings.
  10. WHITE ELEPHANT DAY is something fun you can do to kick off the holiday season. Find something in the home or office that you don’t use anymore, wrap it up and exchange in a group game or you can exchange with a friend.  Laughter is encouraged.
  11. APP DAY is to appreciate the applications we have downloaded on our phone. The average user has 40 apps on our devices, and we spend 88% of our digital time using them.  Use today to review the apps you have and switch up to new ones to replace the ones that are no longer relevant to you.
  12. DING-A-LING DAY is not about ringing bells; it’s a day to celebrate your weirdness. You can be bizarre today and if someone looks at you in weird way, you know you are celebrating today properly.  Feel free to use bells if that ads to your vibe.
  13. VIOLIN DAY you can listen to a violinist; if you play maybe, you could host a concert in the workplace breakroom.
  14. BOUILLABAISSE DAY is a day to eat fish soup. It is a Mediterranean day originating in Marseilles France containing white fillets of cod, snapper, flounder, halibut, sea bass, monkfish and more.
  15. LEMON CUPCAKE DAY you can do your part to prevent scurvy by eating things with lemon in it, particularly lemon cupcakes. Brink in a tray to the office and get your co-worker to pucker up to the tart flavour.
  16. CHOCOLATE COVERED ANYTHING DAY is a day to pour, spread, drizzle chocolate over anything you want to eat. Mix it up with milk chocolate, dark, white, ruby, or unsweetened.
  17. MAPLE SYRUP DAY you can enjoy this delicious treat. As Canadians we produce millions of gallons (or rather litres, eh) each year from our maple trees.
  18. REGIFTING DAY is if you have received an early holiday gift that you don’t want or like, don’t toss it out rewrap it and gift it forward on December 18th.
  19. UGLY SWEATER DAY is a fun event where you wear your obnoxious top all day long. Many organizations and group have embraced this day to have ugly sweaters that incorporate their branding as a fun activity for their team.
  20. CAROLING DAY can be a fun memory-filled tradition. Warm up your vocal cords and go on tour singing a variety of holiday tunes to either earn donations for charity or to brighten the day for others.
  21. HUMBUG DAY is Ebenezer Scrooge approved. If you have been stressed over the holidays, find someone with a kind heart or special training that you can vent your frustration to.
  22. NUT BREAD DAY, we suggest you grab more than one loaf. This treat is holiday favourite among many people.
  23. ROOTS DAY is when you explore who you are. Find out more about your family tree and learning more by talking to your relatives about what they know about your family linage.
  24. EGG NOG DAY can be consumed with or without rum.
  25. CHRISTMAS DAY celebrate the magic, wonder, and spirit of the day.
  26. CANDY CANE DAY is the day to consume these minty treats. The original candy canes did not have a bend, that came later to celebrate many spiritual means and to make them easy to hang as decorations.  The most candy canes hung on a single tree was 6,425.
  27. SNOWFLAKES DAY you can be crafty. It is a quiet and calming activity that almost anyone can do.  Take some paper or pull from the leftover scraps of wrapping paper and create unique shapes for all to enjoy
  28. CARD PLAYING DAY, the holiday hustle is over so take out a deck of cards and deal friends and family in for some play time.
  29. TICK TOCK DAY you need to prepare for the upcoming new year. Action the things on your to-do list that you have been procrastinating about then focus hard on crossing off as much as you can from your list.
  30. BACON DAY, the menu is bacon & eggs, BLT for lunch, bacon cheeseburger for dinner, and with any luck you’ll experience no chest pains in the evening.
  31. MAKE UP YOUR MIND DAY is a time that you can resolve that problem or idea that has been lingering so you can start the new year with action.
