1. Emma M. Nutt Day we celebrate the first women telephone switchboard operator. Instead of using your cellphone, try to find a payphone in your community and wish someone a happy E. M, Nutt Day.
2. Pierce Your Ears Day; the ancient wore earrings as a symbol of wealth, sailors believed an earring was good luck, may cultures wear them to celebrate traditions, I did it back in the 90’s to look cool.
3. Skyscraper Day; you can celebrate by taking the elevator or stairs of your local high-rise. Burj Khalife in Dubai is the highest in the world measuring 163 Floors.
4. Bring Your Manners to Work Day reminds us that etiquette can be the building block to good relationships. Go out of your way to include “please” and “thank you” today and treat everyone with dignity.
5. Be Late for Something Day; if you have trouble staying on schedule today is your day. If you have been trying to get pregnant, hopefully today will be your happy day.
6. World Beard Day; today give some high fives to those you know that are rocking face fur. You can also listen to some ZZ Top.
7. National Salami Day is a great day to visit your local deli to order some “Salame” with is the plural word for “Salami”.
8. Pardon Day in your opportunity to clean the slate with others. You may also use this day to ask someone to forgive you for something.
9. Teddy Bear Day is not just for kids; many adults keep them for comfort too. Today you can gift someone a “special stuffed friend”.
10. Sewing Machine Day. Here at (((((AMPLIFY))))), we offer embroidery services so today is a day we thank the machine operators who add logos and designs to our custom apparel.
11. Make Your Bed Day: 76% of people make their bed, sometimes; 7% never make it at all. Today you can treat yourself to a new set of sheets and climb into a fresh new bed.
12. National Day of Encouragement can be used to empower others. Words can be a positive tool. Use yours kind words to help others reach their goals and dreams.
13. Defy Superstition Day. Most hotels don’t have a 13 th floor, room #13 or even rooms that end with 13 because the number 13 freaks people out. You can find ways to celebrate the number between 12 and 14 today.
14. Crab Fest Day. If you are not near a seashore to grab your crab buckets, plan to eat at a seafood restaurant today. If you are handy in the kitchen, bake, boil or grill some crab meat at home.
15. Make a Hat Day is a project you can do today, or you can count on (((((AMPLIFY)))). We can custom decorate any kind of headwear from caps to toques, hardhats, and even cowboy hats.
16. Collect Rocks Day. Shout out to my geology and mining friends in Sudbury and neighbouring communities. If you can’t pick up rocks today, be a gem around others.
17. Apple Dumpling Day. Many apply lovers can’t resist this delicious treat. Be the office hero and bring this tasty fall treat in to share with your coworkers or staff.
18. Bamboo Day. Many promotional products are made from using sustainable materials, like bamboo. Just ask my panda friend who can eat 45 pounds of bamboo per day.
19. Talk Like a Pirate Day is a day that needs no explanation. Salt your conversations by rolling your “R’s”, replacing “you” with “ye”, and greet people with a gritty “Ahoy Matey!”20. Punch Day. Before confronting that person who has been upsetting you, consider this day could also be the drink that comes from the bowl.
21. Women’s Friendship Day is a great day to be a woman. Do something that can celebrate the relationships with the women in your life.
22. Hobbit Day celebrates characters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s books. Watch a Lord of the Rings movie, eat seven meals today, walk around barefoot, or go for a very, very, very long hike.
23. Day of Sign Language. There are over 300 sign languages world-wide. Baseball hand signals were developed when deaf player, William “Dummy” Hoy played for the White Sox in the early 1900s.
24. Punctuation Day was started by former reporter Jeff Rubin who was so frustrated by errors in practically everything he read, notably, “Let’s eat Grandma” and “Let’s eat, Grandma”. Don’t trust the computer to catch all the errors.
25. Comic Book Day, in the United Kingdom they are called “comic magazines”. Support your local comic bookstores today or drop by the library to start reading a new adventure.
26. Johnny Appleseed Day, his real name was John Chapman. If you can, plant an apple tree today or add apples into your meals and snacks today.
27. Breakfast in Bed Day is the day to begin in a casual and leisurely manner. Unplug the alarm clock next to your bed and set up your coffee machine instead.
28. Ask a Stupid Question Day, if there has been something you’ve been meaning to ask but were too afraid, today may be the day to unload them. Many people say, “There is no such thing as a stupid question” today you can prove them wrong.
29. Confucious Day celebrates the Chinese philosopher and politician (551-479 B.C.). Share your knowledge or wisdom with other people today.
30. Mud Pack Day, book a facial treatment at your beauty salon today. Mug facials have been replaced with a variety or other ingredients which are designed to keep skin young looking, soft, and supple.
